Participation in USSR - Tech Fans 8

If you read this, it means you are the chosen one and you’ve been invited to participate in new USSR - Tech Fans compilation. Congratulations! To make sure you know what it is all about, check the previous compilations, especially the last two.

Theme

This time the theme of the compilation is a little strange, it’s 80-90s / VHS video / Kungfury / Retorave. If that doesn’t mean much to you, check this first:

Location

If you can use a good green screen, that would be really cool. If not, a good location may be on roofs, with some panel buidings, some server rooms, or something that look somewhat 80-90s like that:

Outfit

If after watching kungfury you are still not sure, search images of something like 80s clothing styles and late 80s outfit. In second hand store you can find plenty of that junk, including some old logo slothing etc. Hippie outfit does not really fit here. Here are few examples:

Tech and tricks

The compilation is a tech video, that is before anything we expect cool and new tricks. If you can do a duo or trio it’s a plus. Again, check out the previous videos to get an idea of what we expect on the technical evel:

Please understand that we may have to ask you to remake the video if it does not really fit the theme or if the quality is poor. Actually, we do it often, it’s normal.

Technical video aspects

We encourage creativity, so crazy ideas from Kungfury, duos, gopro videos, drones, nice videography are very welcome. However, few things to keep in mind:

  1. video should be short (less than 15-20 sec or so) with interesting beginning and end.

  2. Video quality of 1080p at least (4K is unnecessary).

  3. Shooting from tripod (unless your cameraman really knows what he’s doing or you are using a drone etc).

  4. Obviously, landscape video.

  5. Try to look nice in the video, not too stressed about the moves. Practice your combo to do it easily.

  6. Try to use a DSLR camera rather than a mobile phone, usually it gives a much better result.

Editing

Please don’t edit anything unless you really know what you are doing and you have some fantastic editing idea. As a rule, we ask for the raw footage and edit ourselves.

Deadline and sending video

The deadline is about July 31. If you cannot make it on time for some technical reason, please let us know, we might extend. Please rename your video the way you want to appear in the video, for example Rem(Moscow), i.e. Name(City). Preferably, send me video on telegram (@R_e_m), but upload the video itself to a cloud if your can. Alternatively, send me link on facebook or Instagram. Good luck!
